I ordered chicken meatballs with greens (sautéed escarole), 3 good-sized meatballs that oozed cheese when cut, in a delicious marinara sauce. My sister's biscuits with homemade sausage gravy was lovingly homemade, the gravy thick but not cloying, the biscuits light and the sausage tasty. I ordered the chocolate beignets-2 powdered oval donuts arrived, deliciously filled with a dark chocolate that melted in my mouth. The dish could have used another spoonful or two of yogurt, but it was delicious and filling, enough for us to share. My sister had the yogurt and granola/fruit, which was a hefty portion of fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries and blueberries), chunky granola and yogurt. Hot, delicious, nicely strong coffee arrived quickly and our waiter then took our order, intelligently answering our questions and then, when one question momentarily stumped him, he advised us that it was only his 7th day there, so he quickly consulted with the cook and returned to our table with the answer. Our waiter promptly appeared, filled our water glasses, and asked if we wanted a beverage (there was NO push to purchase alcohol, which was nice). Side dishes (such as french fries, sausage, biscuits and gravy) were available for an extra charge.

Brunch is a 2 course fixed price ($30) meal, appetizer and entree, plus coffee or tea. We sat in a sunny window table and we were able to easily control the blinds to block out the sun as our meal progressed. We were seated in the garden room, which is flooded with natural sunlight. I traveled over an hour to have brunch here and it did not disappoint-I am delighted with all aspects of my delicious meal.

The Frog and the Peach is a wonderful venue for New Brunswick, but be forewarned about the prices and the nickel and dime tactics employed there.

To our surprise, we were charged for the unrequested salad sent by the chef. Still drinking the wine, and the check comes.

The entrees were particularly good I had the fresh Carolina shrimp with citrus cured duck leg, gold rice, mango, turnip, and aioli. Somewhere between the appetizers and entrée, the manager delivers a dish "from the chef," a watercress, camembert, and hazelnut salad that was honestly far superior to the romaine salad I had ordered for an appetizer. The wine was expensive but delicious, and the four of us consumed three rather pricey bottles. What I found was that the food was generally outstanding-well conceived and assiduously prepared. The manager spent a good deal of time at our table and even served some of our courses. Apparently, he was something of a celebrity in the restaurant, so we were treated to amazing service. Went to The Frog and the Peach (love the name!) with a friend at his recommendation.
